About this District

Blocks away is the birthplace of President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Take a tour, and then enjoy a picnic on the grounds. Visit “Vinita”, the restored home of viticulturalist T.V. Munson, whose research and resourcefulness in the late 19th century saved the French wine industry from the phylloxera plague that threatened to destroy vineyards across the globe.

For nearly three decades, the Denison Arts Council led the community effort to preserve and build upon its unique cultural heritage, fostering a rich environment where residents and guest may live, work, and play as they render homage to history and plant the seeds for a vibrant future. In 2009 the Denison Arts Council was proud to announce the birth of today’s DACD with recognition as a new State Arts & Cultural District by the Texas Commission on the Arts. Come share in our celebration by experiencing everything Denison has to offer!
